In Montana, large vehicles and buses are involved in approximately 11 percent of all crashes but 11 to 16 percent of all fatal crashes. In 2010, the number of large vehicle/bus crashes and fatal large vehicle/bus crashes decreased again. This is the third consecutive year Montana has seen a decrease in fatality crashes involving this class of motor vehicles. New strategies to address large vehicle and bus crashes include increased enforcement and inspection and an expanded safety training program.
