of Transportation Proposes Safety Enhancement Project on Interstate
and Roadway Sections in Jefferson County
BUTTE — The Montana
Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public
and seek comments on a proposal to update signing and delineation on
two roadway sections in Jefferson County.
The project locations are
Site 1 (Interstate 90/Homestake Pass): Linear
delineation on existing concrete barrier rail through curves from
reference post (RP) 234.1 to RP 234.9.
Site 2 (Haab Lane on
Secondary Highway 282 south of Montana City): Standard delineation
from RP 2.2 to RP 3.6.
Proposed work includes upgrading signage and
delineation. The purpose of the projects is to address road departure
The project is tentatively scheduled for construction in
2019, depending on completion of all project development activities
and availability of funding. No new right-of-way or utility
relocations will be needed.
