Havre - Safety Project At Various Locations Around Havre

Montana Department
of Transportation Proposes Safety Project at Various Locations Around
Havre in Hill County

HAVRE  The Montana Department of
Transportation (MDT) would like to notify the public and seek
comments on a proposal to complete safety improvements at locations
around Havre in Hill County. Proposed work includes the following:

Site #1 (U.S. Highway 87): Install intersection ahead warning signing
along with supplemental plaque of street name for Old Post Road. Also
install new street name signs for Old Post Road. 
Site #2 (U.S.
Highway 87): Install panel delineation through the curve located from
reference post (RP) 109.4 to RP 110.3. 
Site #3 (Secondary Highway
234): Install panel delineation between RP 17.7 and RP 21.0. 
Site #4
(The intersection of Secondary Highway 232 and 7th Avenue): Install
intersection ahead signing, a vehicle speed feedback sign, step down
speed limit signs, and panel delineation between RP 0.3 and RP 5.6. 
Site #5 (Secondary Highway 234): Install panel delineation on curves
throughout cluster limits RP 4.7 to RP 7.0. 

The purpose of this
project is to address the number and minimize the impacts of roadway
departure crashes. The project is tentatively scheduled for
construction in 2018, depending on completion of all project
development activities and availability of funding. No new
right-of-way or utility relocations will be needed.
