MDT proposes an erosion repair project on the Millegan Road
(Secondary 330) near Ulm Cascade County

Ulm - The Montana Department of Transportation (MDT) would like to
notify the public and seek comments on a proposal to repair about 0.1
miles of the Smith River bank erosion approximately 15 miles south of
Ulm and north of the Deep Creek School on Secondary 330 (S-330),
locally know as Milligan Road.

Proposed work includes placing riprap material to protect the stream
bank from continuing erosion and to ensure road stability. Work will
take place along the bank of the Smith River adjacent to S-330
between reference posts 14.3 and 14.6 along the northeasterly side of
the highway.

Construction is tentatively planned for 2014 depending on completion
of design and availability of funds. New right-of-way may be
required. MDT staff will contact all affected landowners prior to
doing survey work on their land. Staff will again contact landowners
prior to construction regarding property acquisition and temporary
construction permits.
